Texting across Europe, GDPR-ready from day one.
The EU combines GDPR with each country's own electronic marketing rules. Textezy captures valid consent, keeps the records, respects local quirks and writes your message in your customers' language.
What the rules require
Valid consent, kept safe, easy to withdraw.
Under GDPR and the ePrivacy rules, marketing texts generally need prior consent, and you must be able to show how you got it. Some countries add their own sender or timing rules.
- Consent that is freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous, never a pre-ticked box
- Records of who agreed, to what, when and how
- Data rights: access, correction, deletion and easy withdrawal of consent
- Consent captured and logged
- Data processing agreement signed
- Sender set per country
- Messages in local languages
- Contact data export on request

Local rules
One region, many country rules.
GDPR is shared, but each country applies the ePrivacy rules its own way. Textezy keeps a rulebook per country and applies it automatically.
- Send times
Quiet hours
Some countries restrict when marketing texts can go out. France, for example, limits evenings, Sundays and public holidays.
- Sender IDs
Sender registration
A few countries require sender names to be registered in advance, or replace unregistered names. We set this up per market.
- Language
Write like a local
The AI writer translates into major EU languages and keeps opt-out wording in the customer's language.

EU FAQ
Questions about sending in the EU.
Is the soft opt-in allowed in the EU?
Many EU countries allow a similar exception for existing customers buying similar products, but the details vary by country. Textezy applies each country's version so only eligible contacts are included.
Who is the controller and who is the processor?
You decide who to text and why, so you're the controller. Textezy processes the data on your behalf as your processor, under our data processing agreement.
Can I send to every EU country?
Textezy supports sending across the EU. Prices and sender options vary by country and are shown before every send.
What if a customer asks what data we hold?
Search the contact, export their profile, messages and consent history, and send it to them. You can also delete them completely if they ask.
