SMS in India, with DLT done for you.
Every business SMS in India must be registered on a DLT platform before it can be delivered. Textezy registers your business, sender headers and message templates with you, and blocks anything that would be rejected.
What the rules require
Three things must be registered before you send.
Under TRAI's commercial communication rules, carriers check every message against what's on the DLT register. If anything doesn't match, the text is dropped.
- Your business (principal entity), registered on a carrier's DLT portal with your company documents
- Sender headers: the 6-character name customers see, such as TZSTYL (shown as JM-TZSTYL). Promotional texts use a 6-digit numeric header
- Message templates: the exact wording of each message, with marked spaces for names, amounts and links
- Entity registered on DLT
- Promotional and service headers approved
- Templates approved and linked
- Links and callback numbers whitelisted
- Promotions held to 10am–9pm IST

How Textezy handles it
From documents to first send.
Entity registration
Upload your company details once. We prepare the DLT application and tell you exactly what each portal needs.
Headers
We suggest sender headers that match your brand and won't be refused for being generic or misleading.
Templates
The template checker formats variables correctly and flags wording carriers usually reject, before you submit.
Every send checked
Each message is matched to its approved template, header and send window before it leaves Textezy.
Template example
Same message, ready for DLT.
Templates fix the wording and mark the parts that change. Textezy converts your draft into this format for you.
India FAQ
Questions about sending in India.
Do I need an Indian company to send SMS in India?
DLT registration asks for business identity documents. Indian companies use their PAN and GST details; overseas businesses can usually register with their own company documents. Tell us your situation and we'll confirm what's needed.
How long does DLT approval take?
It depends on the carrier portal. Entity and header approvals often take a few working days, and templates are usually quicker. You can follow every step inside Textezy.
Why do links need to be whitelisted?
To fight spam, carriers only deliver messages whose links and callback numbers are registered against your account. Textezy registers your links and short links for you.
Can I send in Hindi and other Indian languages?
Yes. Templates can be in any language, and the AI writer can translate for you. Messages in Indian scripts fit fewer characters per SMS, and Textezy shows the credit count before you send.
