Acceptable use policy

What you can and can't send, so texting stays trusted for everyone.

Effective date: 22 October 2026

Why this matters

People trust text messages because they're personal. Carriers protect that trust by filtering senders who abuse it, and one bad sender can affect deliverability for everyone. This policy explains what's allowed on Textezy. It applies alongside our Terms and the laws of each country you send to.

  • Only send marketing messages to people who have given the consent their country requires.
  • Never buy, rent, borrow or scrape phone number lists.
  • Identify your business clearly in every message.
  • Include opt-out instructions where required, and honour every opt-out promptly, across all your lists.
  • Only send the type of messages people agreed to receive.

Prohibited content

You may not use Textezy to send:

  • Phishing, scams, fraud or messages that impersonate another person or organisation
  • Illegal products or services, or content that promotes illegal activity
  • Hate speech, harassment, threats or content that incites violence
  • Sexually explicit content
  • Malware, or links to malicious or deceptive sites
  • Debt collection that breaches local law, payday or other short-term high-interest loans, debt relief or forgiveness offers, and lead generation for loans or funding
  • Get-rich-quick schemes, pyramid schemes and gambling where it is unlawful or not permitted by carriers

Restricted content

Some content is allowed only with extra checks, such as age verification, specific registration or explicit approval from us. This includes alcohol, tobacco and vaping, firearms, and certain health and political messages. Rules differ by country and carrier. Ask us before sending if you're unsure.

Business funding, including merchant cash advance (US)

Business funding is supported when all of these are true:

  • You are the direct funder or lender making the offer, and you register and send under your own brand.
  • The campaign is registered for financial services and passes any extra carrier vetting.
  • You only text applicants and customers who gave you written consent to receive texts, for example on your application form.
  • You never text purchased, rented, shared or brokered leads.
  • Messages are accurate and identify your company, with no promises of guaranteed approval or misleading terms, and include opt-out instructions where required.

Real estate (US)

Real estate messaging is supported for agents, brokerages and property teams who:

  • Only text people who opted in through their own website, listing enquiries or open-house sign-ins.
  • Never text numbers from scraped or purchased lists, including for-sale-by-owner and expired-listing lists.
  • Identify their brokerage in every message and honour opt-outs promptly.

Sending behaviour

  • Don't use URL shorteners or numbers you don't control to hide where a link goes.
  • Don't rotate numbers or sender names to avoid filtering (“snowshoeing”).
  • Respect each country's sending hours.
  • Keep messages consistent with what you registered with carriers.
  • Don't try to probe, disrupt or get around the security of our platform.

What happens if rules are broken

We may pause a campaign, block messages, suspend sending or close an account if we believe this policy has been broken. Where we can, we'll explain why and help you fix it. Carriers and regulators may also take their own action.

Received a text you think breaks these rules? Email abuse@textezy.com with the sender and message, and we'll investigate.
